this is us
ER Dance and Fitness is a community-funded group based in Braunstone, on the edge of Braunstone Park, for the people in and around Leicester.
Everyone involved in ER dance, sport and fun fitness sessions are volunteers or young paid members that have come through ER Dance training modules. Our volunteers and helpers are of all ages, with some as young as 11 years old while others are in their 60s.
ER focuses on training people to a professional standard, and many of our volunteers are qualified dance, sport and fitness coaches. To date, nearly 20 of our volunteers have chosen to go to college or university to study dance, sport or youth work.
A number of young people that started with ER are now dancing professionally. Several of our former members can now be found regularly performing on stage and screen around the country, and even further afield. Our aim is to reach and share our experiences with as many people has possible within Leicester and throughout the county.
We run classes and exercise sessions at a number of locations throughout western Leicester, including the Westend Club, BRITE Centre, Leicester Leys Leisure Centre and also at the newly refurbished Grove Community Hub in Braunstone. We feel that by being at so many places throughout the community we make it easier for people to come and discover the fun of dance and fitness.
